Liona BoydGuest performer and speaker, March of Dimes annual fundraiser Liona Boyd is known as the "First Lady of the Classical Guitar". She was diagnosed with task specific focal dystonia, also known as ‘musician’s dystonia’ from overplaying, which led to a disability in her playing hand. She thought her career had come to a premature end. She has since refocused her career and is now singing and playing guitar, albeit with a different technique. She was the special guest speaker at the 2010 Ability & Beyond Dinner. |
