Conductive Education Classroom Assistant-Calgary


Location / Lieu: Calgary, Alberta   

Position / Poste: Conductive Education Classroom/Therapy Assistant – Temporary Contract (7 Hours per day) January 8-12 2018 7 Hours/day (with potential for casual work following contract) 

Duties / Fonctions:
  • Assist with the running of day to day camps during January intensive providing therapy to children with Cerebral Palsy 
  • Assist with meals as required
  • Assist learners with toileting in accordance with their requests and needs
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy
  • Provide physical assistance to learners as required
  • Report any behavioural problems to Lead Conductor
  • Assist learners with the preservation of documentation which reflects the goals they have attained
  • Organize classroom area and clean as needed at the conclusion of the class
  • Responsible for classroom set-up organizing equipment/materials prior to the start of each class
  • Manage workload and work area in a healthy and safe manner
Qualifications / Compétences requises:
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
  • Experience working with people with physical disabilities preferred
  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively both in written and verbal form
  • Ability to multi task, problem solve, make recommendations and take appropriate action
  • Good organizational and planning skills, an effective team player
