This award, created in 1981 and named in honour of Former March of Dimes President Judge George Ferguson, is presented annually to a business, organization, or individual contributing in an outstanding way by enabling equality and full community participation for people with physical disabilities throughout Canada.

- The nominee's work with and on behalf of people with disabilities, must have influenced changes in policies or services on a large scale
- The nominee's contribution must have had a major impact on society and elevated the well being of people with disabilities
- The nominee's contribution should be unique
