THE GALA:
The 2012 ABILITY AND BEYOND® Gala will be our thirteenth since inaugurating the event in 1999 as the Paul Martin Sr. Gala. Mr. Martin was the Minister of Health and Welfare who introduced the polio vaccine in the mid 50’s in Canada. The ABILITY AND BEYOND® Gala has generated significant revenue benefiting our research fellowship and our many programs and services for people with disabilities. This event has an illustrious history, having hosted very special guests and speakers including: Bob Woodruff, ABC News Anchor , David Plouffe, President Obama’s campaign manager, H.R.H. The Princess Royal (Princess Anne), the Rt. Hon. Paul Martin, Senator Elizabeth Dole, former Ontario Premiers Hon. Mike Harris, Hon. Ernie Eves, Hon. David Peterson, disabilities advocate Kyle Maynard, Hollywood actor Leslie Neilsen and musician,Liona Boyd.
