On Saturday, April 16, 2011 the Princess of Wales' Own Regiment (PWOR) will conduct its successful “PWOR March for the March of Dimes”. The March is a fund raising event in support of March of Dimes’ programs and services for children and adults with disabilities.
This event has a long history with the PWOR, having first been conducted in 1992. Over this period of time the “PWOR March for the March of Dimes” was able to raise close to $150,000 to benefit those with physical disabilities throughout Ontario.
The “PWOR March for the March of Dimes” is a relaxed march in formed ranks wearing CADPAT uniform through the streets of Kingston, and involves a number of units participating voluntarily from Canadian Forces Base Kingston and local cadets. Money is raised through charitable donations collected as pledges by participants.
This year the Honorary Parade Marshall will be HCol Mark Hutchings. The March will start at 8am at the Armoury. The event is sponsored by CHUM Radio and the Kingston Whig-Standard. For more information please e-mail email@example.com
