Fifth annual Rock for Dimes fundraiser to raise money for Calgary families living with disabilities.
Four bands will shake Flames Central on Saturday, February 4th to raise an estimated $50,000 for people living with disabilities.
Four bands, JSS Barristers Advo-Cats, The Bitchoo Men, No Reply and The Ad Hoc Band will be participating in a corporate battle of the bands to determine the title of Calgary’s best, all in support of March of Dimes’ programs and services. Lee Richardson, MP, Kent Hehr, MLA, and Gerry David will be on hand as the event’s judges, and Q107 on-air personality Dale Einarson, will be pulling double duty as both the evening’s emcee and judge.
All proceeds benefit March of Dimes Canada’s programs and services for children and adults with disabilities. The charity recently expanded its programming into Western Canada, opening an office in Calgary.
“We couldn’t be more excited about staging Rock for Dimes in Calgary again,” says Mary Lynne Stewart, Director of Fund Development and Communications for March of Dimes Canada. “The Calgary community is so supportive, and I am confident that this event will allow us to offer our programming to even more people in the city.”
This is the fifth year that Rock for Dimes has been held in Calgary, and it is part of a series of fundraisers that are held across Canada, including stops in Vancouver, Halifax, Toronto, Ottawa, London and Montreal.
The event is sponsored by Canadian Natural, Borden Ladner Gervais, Flames Central, JSS Barristers, Long and McQuade, Give/Get, AMG Medical Supplies and radio station Q107 is the media sponsor.
Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4th at The Flames Central, located at 219-8th Ave. SW. The event is open to the public. Tickets are $25 per person. For more information or to order tickets please visit www.rockfordimes.ca/calgary
