Rock for Dimes Calgary 2014

Seventh annual Rock for Dimes fundraiser to raise money for Calgary families living with disabilities

Four bands will take to the stage at Flames Central on Saturday, February 1, 2014 to raise an estimated $25,000 for people living with disabilities.

The Bitchoo Men, No Reply, F.O.G and The Ad Hoc Band will be participating in a corporate battle of the bands to determine the title of Calgary’s best, all in support of March of Dimes’ programs and services. Kent Hehr, MLA, Glenn Solomon, Global Calgary’s Linda Olsen will be on hand as the event’s judges, and Q107 on-air personality Lucas Gilbertson will be pulling double duty as both the evening’s emcee and judge.

All proceeds benefit March of Dimes Canada’s programs and services for children and adults with disabilities.

“We couldn’t be more excited about staging Rock for Dimes in Calgary again, it just gets better each year,” says Mary Lynne Stewart, Director of Fund Development and Communications for March of Dimes Canada. “The Calgary community is so supportive, and this has become a signature event in the city.”

This is the seventh year that the event has been held in Calgary, and it is part of a series of fundraisers that are held across Canada. March of Dimes Canada has been able to expand its program offering to Albertans living with disabilities as a result of this fundraiser.

Sponsors include Canadian Natural, Borden Ladner Gervais, Flames Central, and national sponsors Long & McQuade and Airgo. Radio station Q107 is the media sponsor.

Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Flames Central, located at 219-8th Ave. SW. The event is open to the public. Tickets are $25 per person. For more information or to order tickets please visit www.rockfordimes.ca/calgary
