Members of London’s corporate community play “Rock Star” to raise money for a great cause.
On March 20, 2015, five of London’s best amateur bands will take to the stage at the Best Western Lamplighter Inn Convention Centre to raise an estimated $10,000 for children and adults with physical disabilities at Rock for Dimes London. Musician Jeff Poolton will be the special guest performers. This is the ninth year the event has been held in London.
The R J Conspiracy, Attic Apostles, DUTY CALLS, 7T8 and Oui B. Jamon will compete for bragging rights as London’s best corporate band, at the same time showcasing their talents to guest judges, music therapist Elizabeth Mitchell, Darren Connolly, CTV’s Cristina Howorun and Dan Wylie, from sponsor Classic Rock, FREE 98-1. Kevin Bulmer will be the evening’s host.
All proceeds benefit March of Dimes Canada’s programs for children and adults with disabilities. The event will follow an Opening Doors for Accessibility event taking place that afternoon at the Best Western aimed at helping London-area residents living with disabilities to better access local community supports.
“We couldn’t be more excited about once again staging Rock for Dimes in London,” says Mary Lynne Stewart, Director of Fund Development and Communications for March of Dimes Canada. “We have a great deal of programming in London, and this event has always been so well-supported by the community, allowing us to grow it every year.”
