March of Dimes Canada Conductive Education Award

The March of Dimes Canada Conductive Education® Award provides recipients with $10,000 annually (to a maximum of $30,000) to complete either:

  • a three-year program towards a BA (Hons) Conductive Education with a Qualified Conductor Status (QCS) certification at the University of Wolverhampton in Birmingham, United Kingdom; or
  • a five-year program towards a POHI (Physically and Otherwise Health Imparied) undergraduate program focusing on Conductive Education at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The March of Dimes award covers approximately two-thirds of the total tuition fees required to become a conductor.

Why become a Conductor?

Working as an accredited conductor provides opportunities to help people with neurological disorders improve their lives. Conductive Education conductors are also currently in high demand -- interest in the system has expanded across North America, continental Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Israel.

Award Requirements

Applicants must be a resident or citizen of Canada. In addition, they must either posses or be in the process of receiving a Canadian high school diploma.

Applicants must complete a one-page essay explaining their interest in becoming a conductor. References and transcripts will be required.

Applicants are encouraged to apply to the University of Wolverhampton or Aquinas College concurrently with the award application. Recipients of the March of Dimes Conductive Education award will be notified after confirmation of acceptance to the university.

Award recipients are required to complete a two-year, post-graduate commitment to March of Dimes, after which individuals are free to explore other placement options. Student conductors are also required to fulfill a paid placement in a Conductive Education® summer program in Canada, which provides excellent opportunities for Canadian participants to return home and gain valuable work experience.
