The Conductive Education program at March of Dimes Canada helps children with neurological motor disorders work towards improving all facets of childhood development.
Conductive Education places an emphasis on:
- being as independent as possible (Orthofunction)
- learning to change positions independently
- improving range and activity of movement
- gross and fine motor control
- developing weight-bearing skills in all positions
- concentration, focus, communication and problem solving
Our conductors are trained in teaching children with motor disorders and participants are given personalized goals and activities to carry out, ensuring all children learn at an appropriate level. Sessions are structured and consistent so that children are aware of what is being expected and asked of them.
In addition to classes, March of Dimes also offers home consultations, school visits and condition specific information sessions.
