Q: Did MODmobility shut down?
A: Yes, MODmobility is now closed. Due to limited demand, MODmobility services have been discontinued. It was an online store where used mobility and assistive devices/products in good condition were donated or purchased.
Q: What is the warranty for equipment previously purchased from MODmobility?
A: All products are covered by a 6-month limited parts and labour warranty. In the event of a mechanical/electrical problem resulting from defects in materials and/or workmanship, Motion Specialties will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the product. To make a warranty claim on products purchased from MODmobility, please call Motion Specialties at 416-751-0400.
Q: I have not received a tax receipt for previously donated equipment. What do I do?
A: If you have not received your tax receipt for previously donated assistive equipment, please call March of Dimes Canada at 1-800-263-3463 extension 7883 or email donorservices@marchofdimes.ca.
Q: What happened to my donated equipment?
A: The equipment that was donated was either sold to people who wish to purchase such equipment, or it was donated for its intended purpose to the Canadian Red Cross or the Salvation Army. You may contact March of Dimes Canada to track any specific piece of donated equipment by emailing info@marchofdimes.ca.
Q: Does MODmobility still accept donated products?
A: No, MODmobility no longer accepts equipment. The following is a list of some organizations that will accept donations of equipment
The Canadian Red Cross - The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care is partnering with the Canadian Red Cross for a one-year pilot project (July 2011 July 2012) to provide recycled assistive equipment for sale. In-kind tax receipts for donated equipment are available if requested at the time of the donation. Call 1-855-255-9156 or click here for more information.
Salvation Army Thrift Stores - most stores across Canada accept assistive device donations, but it is a good idea to call first to confirm. A list of their store locations can be found at www.thriftstore.ca

A: There are several providers of recycled assistive equipment. The Canadian Red Cross offers a HELP program to provide assistive equipment on loan or for purchase. Call Red Cross at 1-855-255-9156 or click here to inquire about assistive equipment through their HELP program.
Q: Is there any financial assistance for the purchase of assistive equipment or modifications to assist with mobility?
