DONATIONS OR PURCHASES OF ASSISTIVE EQUIPMENT

The following is a list of contacts that accept donations and offer assistive equipment for sale:

1. The Canadian Red Cross offers the Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP) which loans medical equipment on a short term basis to people recovering in their homes from injury, illness or surgery. To make an equipment donation or enquire about receiving assistive devices, call 1-855-255-9156 or click here for more information.
   
   
2. Salvation Army Thrift Stores - most stores across Canada accept assistive device donations, but it is a good idea to call first to confirm. Click here for a list of store locations.

4. The Cerebral Palsy Support Foundation of Canada (Head Office in Whitby, ON)

5. There may be additional organizations in your area that accept donations, including local churches or community centres.

ALTERNATIVE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care offers an assistive devices program. Click here for more information.

In addition, Ontario March of Dimes offers two programs that may be of assistance:

1. Assistive Devices Program (ADP) this Ontario program helps you to find financial assistance to purchase or repair mobility equipment. Call ADP at 1-866-765-7237 or visit www.marchofdimes.ca/adp for eligibility information.
   
   
2. Home & Vehicle Modification Program (HVMP) this Ontario program provides funding for basic home and/or vehicle modifications. Call HVMP at 1-877-369-4867 or visit www.marchofdimes.ca/hvmp for eligibility information.
