 Summer Holiday Program

March of Dimes Canada promotes independence for adults with physical disabilities throughout Ontario.  One of the many ways we achieve this is through our Summer Holiday Program.  Since 1972, the Provincial Recreation Department has operated a residential holiday program for adults with physical disabilities.

The Summer Holiday Program is a 6 day, adult oriented program, situated at accessible YMCA Geneva Park Conference Centre and Resort, on the outskirts of Orillia, Ontario.  At Geneva Park there is over 150 acres of pristine natural peninsula with a beautiful shoreline on Lake Couchiching.

With resort amenities and access to the wilderness, our programming includes accessible canoeing, kayaking, swimming and nature strolls.  We also offer leisure programming such as arts and crafts, excursions into nearby Orillia, and fun group games.  We ensure that there is something for everybody and for all abilities.

Our experienced and attentive staff also provide all attendant care to our holidayers.

This year there are 8 sessions to choose from throughout the summer.  Eash session has approximately  8-10 holidayers.  We have also introduced specialized weeks such as ABI (acquired brain injury) week and youth week!
