If you or someone in your family has survived a stroke, join the Stroke Recovery Registry to receive a free, customized Stroke Recovery Canada information package and a copy of our bi-annual newsletter The Phoenix.

To join the Stroke Recovery Registry, please email your full name, full address, phone number and email address to src@marchofdimes.ca . In your email message, please indicate whether or not you would like to receive an information package as well as the latest issue of The Phoenix.

FICSS (Family Informal Caregivers of Stroke Survivors) Project

Are you a caregiver of a stroke survivor? You are invited to participate in a four-part education and support program and a research study.

Who can participate: Informal caregivers (spouses, other family members) of stroke survivors that have been in the caregiving role at home for a minimum of 2 months after stroke.

The program consists of 4 two-hour sessions held once a week.
The program is caregiver focused with plenty of time for discussion with one another on topics such as sharing your story, community connections, communiation, behaviour changes, stress management, changing relationships, deailng with emotions and how to be 'caregiver smart'.

Program is FREE of charge! **Respite available upon request** The program is currently being offered in the Niagara and Brant regions.

Aphasia Camp

Since 2008, March of Dimes has partnered with other other community organizations to host Aphasia Camp, a recreational and relaxing weekend camp retreat for people with aphasia and their friends.

2011 - March of Dimes has partnered with Trillium Health Centre and the West GTA Stroke Network to host Aphasia Day Camp Mississauga. Click here for the brochure and Newsletter Report.

Fit for Function

The YMCA of Hamilton/Burlington/Brantford, Hamilton Health Sciences and McMaster University have partnered to improve the health of our community. This community-based exercise and educational program is designed for stroke survivors and their caregivers to gain confidence in managing the challenges of living with stroke.
