ROCK OF DIMES Vancouver

Vancouver’s finest amateur musicians shook The Roxy to battle for the title at the second annual Rock for Dimes Vancouver at the same time raising money for families with physical disabilities. In addition to the concert, there was a host of other activities including a live auction, all benefiting our Stroke Recovery Canada program.

The Howard Mickelson Blues Experience emerged victorious in an extremely close contest, winning out over Exiles on the Main Street, I-Land and No Reply.

Ken “Jooyner” Allan, on-air personality of media sponsor 96.9 Jack FM was back on-board as our outstanding MC. We once again had thee terrific judges - music producers Jeff Dawson, Mike Fraser and Randy Staub.

Rock for Dimes benefits March of Dimes Canada’s Stroke Recovery Canada Program, a national service offering post-recovery support, education and programs for stroke survivors, their families and health care providers. Through its work with local peer support groups across the country, Stroke Recovery Canada provides Canadians with the resources needed to help people survive and thrive after stroke.  Over $10,000 was raised at the event in support of Stroke Recovery Canada.

Special thanks to the bands, judges, 96.9 Jack FM and Ken Allan, the many people who attended the event, and the gracious volunteers.
