Polio Survivor Stories and Photo gallery

Awareness on the Rise – One story at a time!

In the newspaper an article was placed during Polio Awareness month asking any Polio Survivors to please contact the Warmline and tell us their stories. A collection of these stories have been put together and placed on the website. All are very interesting, some have never been told. Many of the stories are inspiring to say the least but with each story told, one common theme kept arising; awareness. Hopefully through this collection of stories and photo gallery pictures, memories will not be lost but instead cherished.

Polio History

The Polio History section is dedicated to preserving the memories of polio survivors, their families and those that cared for them. We thank those who have submitted their stories.

The history of polio is still being written as global eradication efforts continue, but many already have a story to tell. Men and women who survived polio long ago have unique tales of their personal experiences with a disease that has affected millions worldwide.

Many scholars will find these personal stories enlightening in regards to medical treatments of the time.

To add your story to the site please email your story and related pictures to: info@poliocanada.com
