“Give the way you live!”
March of Dimes Canada’s M.O.D. Squad is helping children and adults with disabilities improve mobility and self-confidence.
Change a child’s life forever this holiday season. March of Dimes Canada is helping people fundraise in a way that fits their lifestyle, with its newly launched “M.O.D. Squad” campaign. The M.O.D. Squad is an interactive online initiative that provides the tools needed to start or support fundraising activities, in the workplace or in the community. The website shows people how to turn a holiday party, bake sale, movie night or other special event into a fundraiser that supports March of Dimes’ program and services for children and adults with disabilities.
“Traditional fundraising like gala dinners, or large donations can be out of reach for many people – but that doesn’t mean they don’t want to give in a meaningful way,” says Mary Lynne Stewart, Director of Fund Development and Communications for March of Dimes Canada. “M.O.D. Squad provides the ability for people to creatively fundraise at events tailored to their lifestyle – and without breaking the bank,” she continues.
The website, www.marchofdimes.ca/modsquad is user-friendly and easily accessible. Once registered, participants are able to create a personal fundraising web page, send emails to promote their event or activity, collect funds online through a secure donation web page and monitor their success. You can even collect offline funds at your event and process them through your M.O.D. Squad Web Page using a credit card.
“The holiday season can be a time of reflection and thinking of others less fortunate than us – especially in these difficult times,” says Mary Lynne. “Every little bit helps, so why not turn your family event into an occasion that both feels good and does good?”
