Conductive Education® services for children with neurological motor disorders work towards improving all areas of child development:  

• cognitive (concentration, memory, perception and problem solving)
• behavioural (appropriateness, social awareness, toilet training)
• emotional (consistency, positive environment, success)
• speech, language and communication
• physical development (self-awareness, balance, coordination, changing place and position etc).

Emphasis is placed on:

• learning to change positions independently
• improving range and activity of movement
• gross and fine motor control
• developing weight-bearing skills in all positions
• concentration, focus, communication and problem solving

Our Conductors are trained in motor disorders and life-span development, and have an in-depth understanding of how to teach children with motor disorders.

Each child works toward his or her own specific goals using individual solutions and an activity that they carry out, usually within a group setting. This lets children to work at their own skill level.

All group learning takes place in a fun and active environment, with toys, games and singing to help motivate the children because CE recognizes that motivation is key to learning. The sessions are structured and consistent so that children are aware of what is being asked of them, and each child is given the time and opportunity to be as active and independent as possible.
