March of Dimes Canada to be beneficiary of Canada Fest 2012
For the first time, The Rehabilitation Foundation for Disabled Persons, US, an affiliate of March of Dimes Canada, will host a booth at the 2012 Canada Fest event, taking place at the Palm Springs Convention Center, located at 277 North Avenida Caballeros, Palm Springs, California on December 8 – 9, 2012.
Canada Fest is a celebration of the unique, cooperative U.S./Canada relationship. Every January, more than 3,000 Canadians fly into Palm Springs weekly. Over the last year, 80% of home purchases in Palm Springs were made by Canadians. Canadians are also the #1 foreign employers by size of payroll in Riverside County.
Guests at Canada Fest will have the chance to meet local politicians and dignitaries, explore the wares of over 300 vendors on display, enjoy a ‘Canadian-style’ Beer Garden, and take in entertainment provided by local talents.
Representatives will be on hand to discuss the work of March of Dimes Canada, which provides programs and services for children and adults with disabilities. In addition, guests can register early for the 2013 Canada California Business Council Celebrity Golf Classic, which will be taking place March 2, 2013 at the Desert Dunes Golf Club in Palm Desert. Celebrities confirmed for the tournament include champion wrestler Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart, retired NHL legends Luc Robitaille and Marty McSorley, actors Joe Pecsi, Anthony Anderson, Alan Thicke, Craig T. Nelson, Cheech Marin, Jack Wagner and Danny Masterson, musician Kenny G and many more. March of Dimes Canada will host a putting contest in support of the upcoming golf tournament.
