Rock for Dimes Toronto 2012 - Toronto’s Big Battle of the Corporate Bands!
Members of Toronto’s corporate community play "Rock Star" to raise money for a great cause.
For the eighth straight year, Toronto’s top business executives are trading in their suit and ties for ripped jeans and guitars at the Rock for Dimes fundraiser.
On Thursday, June 7th six bands featuring groups comprised of Toronto business professionals will shake Club 279 at the Hard Rock Cafe to raise an estimated $25,000 for children with physical disabilities.
The bands will compete for bragging rights as Toronto’s best corporate band, at the same time showcasing their talents to music industry professionals. Maie Pauts from boom 97.3 will be pulling double duty as the evening’s emcee and judge, while David Bajurney, producer with Orange Hill and East Hill Productions, Inc, and producer, musician and artist rep Andy Curran will round out the evening’s judges panel.
Oui B. Jamon, Trading Hearts, Collateral Attack, Earth Shine, OIAM and Superfire will do battle at the event.
All proceeds benefit March of Dimes Canada’s Conductive Education® (CE) program and will be supporting the Academy of Conductive Education (ACE), an early intervention program for young children living with neuro-motor disabilities. CE is an innovative program that blends elements of education and rehabilitation to improve the independence, mobility and confidence of children with disabilities, and has been especially beneficial to kids with cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis and developmental apraxia.
"Our Conductive Education program is one of the largest of its kind in the world and we serve hundreds of children and adults. We are so pleased that tonight will be benefiting our ACE program," says Mary Lynne Stewart, Director of Fund Development and Communications.
The event is sponsored by A Supreme Nursing, FMC Law, AMG Medical Supplies, ReliAble Independent Living Services, Long & McQuade, Dave Gillespie Photography, Hard Rock Café and media sponsor boom 97.3.
Doors will open at 7:00pm on Thursday, June 7th at Club 279 in the Hard Rock Cafe located at 279 Yonge St. The event is open to the public. Tickets are $25 per person. For more information or to order tickets online visit www.rockfordimes.ca/toronto or call 416-425-3463 ext.7312.
