Seventh annual battle of the bands fundraiser to raise money for Vancouver families living with disabilities
Five bands will shake Red Room Ultra Bar on Thursday, February 21st to raise an estimated $20,000 for families living with disabilities.
BIG BACK YARD, No Reply, The Ringtones, Lex Appeal and TOAD will compete for bragging rights, at the same time showcasing their talents to music industry professionals.
On board as judges are singer/songwriter Tal Bachman, 54/40 lead guitarist Dave Genn, music producer Jeff Dawson and March of Dimes Canada Vice-President of Programs Jerry Lucas. Kieran Wilkie, from media sponsor 96.9 Jack FM will be the evening’s host.
All proceeds benefit March of Dimes Canada’s programs for children and adults with disabilities.
“Pennzoil presents Rock for Dimes is always a huge hit in Vancouver,” says Mary Lynne Stewart, Director of Fund Development and Communications for March of Dimes Canada. “We have such supportive bands, volunteers and sponsors and we couldn’t be more appreciative.”

This is the seventh time that Rock for Dimes has been held in Vancouver, and it is part of a series of fundraisers that are held across Canada, including stops in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Calgary and Edmonton in Alberta, Montreal, Quebec, and London, Windsor, Niagara Falls, Sault Ste. Marie, Toronto in Ontario.
Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21st at the RedRoom Ultra Bar, located at 398 Richards Street. The event is open to the public. Tickets are $25 per person.
