March of Dimes Canada will be the beneficiary of the first Dor-Tech Charity Golf Classic fundraiser, taking place on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the spectacular Indian Wells Golf Club, located at 5377 Walkers Line, Burlington, Ontario.
The event host and master of ceremonies will be Canadian Idol Winner 2007, Canadian singer-songwriter and Hamilton native Brian Melo.
The day has much to offer local golfers. In addition to golfing on one of Burlington’s finest courses, there will be dinner and awards. Dor-Tech Automation is also holding a contest for all business owners that participate in the fundraiser. Dor-Tech will supply and install a Tormax TTX II Automatic Door operator on the front door of the contest winner, to help their business become more accessible to everyone in the community. The draw is open to all golf participants and will take place at dinner after the tournament is complete.
“Dor-Tech has based our business model around making our community more accessible. We felt there is no other organization that shares our values better than March of Dimes and it is our extreme pleasure to help their cause,” says Kevin Craig, Sales Manager for Dor-Tech and the organizer of the tournament along with his wife Carol.
Proceeds will support local March of Dimes Canada’s Stroke Recovery Canada® program. Stroke Recovery Canada provides information, education and support to stroke survivors, caregivers and health care professionals across the country.
“When I heard Dor-Tech was planning a charity golf tournament for March of Dimes, I knew right away that I wanted to be a part of it,” says Brian Melo. “After attending their recent Ability & Beyond Gala, and seeing first hand how much value they provide to people living with disabilities, I'm even more excited to help make this a massive success for March of Dimes,” he continues.
Registration is at 12:00 p.m. with the shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. The reception will run from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. and the dinner and awards ceremony at 6:15 p.m.
