Rock for Dimes London 2014

London’s Big Battle of the Corporate Bands!
Members of London’s corporate community play “Rock Star” to raise money for a great cause.

On March 28, 2014, six of London’s best amateur bands will take to the stage at the Best Western Lamplighter Inn Convention Centre to raise an estimated $10,000 for children and adults with physical disabilities at Rock for Dimes London. Musicians Justin Hines and Jeff Poolton will be the special guest performers. This is the eighth year the event has been held in London.

QuikFix, The R J Conspiracy, Attic Apostles, Progressive Discipline, Mud Creek Band and Oui B. Jamon will compete for bragging rights as London’s best corporate band, at the same time showcasing their talents to guest judges. Chris McKeon, musician Jeff Poolton, Scene publisher Bret Downe, CTV 2’s Cristina Howorun and FM 96 Host Travis Pelletier have been tapped as judges, and Kevin Bulmer will be the evening’s host.

All proceeds benefit March of Dimes Canada’s programs for children and adults with disabilities. The event will follow an Opening Doors for Accessibility event taking place that afternoon at the Best Western aimed at helping London-area residents living with disabilities to better access local community supports.

“We couldn’t be more excited about once again staging Rock for Dimes in London,” says Mary Lynne Stewart, Director of Fund Development and Communications for March of Dimes Canada.  “We have a great deal of programming in London, and this event has always been so well-supported by the community, allowing us to grow it every year.”

Rock for Dimes is a series of fundraisers held across Canada, and to date has raised close to $1million for children and adults living with disabilities.
