March of Dimes Canada Art Show in Thunder Bay

March of Dimes Canada will be hosting an Art Show on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. featuring pieces created by our Art Program participants. The event is open to the community. Please stop by and visit the exhibition, take a stroll or roll through our community garden space to meet some of the participants and artisans of this wonderful program sponsored by Tbaytel for Good.

With the support of Tbaytel for Good, The Warehouse Art Program has provided weekly sessions for people living with disabilities to express themselves through various artistic mediums. The Program has exposed our participants to new and challenging projects, while also allowing them to explore their potential in a safe, positive and encouraging environment. The Program offers participants a consistent weekly learning experience with engaging, fun and professional instruction.

The Warehouse Art Program is integrated into a larger program called the Warehouse Project and MOD Community Garden. These unique community programs offer opportunities for participants living with disabilities to build upon their social network, take part in activities such as art, woodworking, gardening, recreation, community outings and special events.

The Warehouse programming builds confidence and enhances independence beyond the program itself. The Warehouse encourages community engagement and often participants move on to new challenges such as volunteering, furthering their education, joining social groups and pursuing employment. The Warehouse is well-known for being an upbeat, positive and fun environment for all participants, from young adults to seniors.
