Sarnia’s Big Battle of the Bands Fundraising Event
On Saturday, March 28, 2015, five of Sarnia’s best amateur bands will take to the stage at Brownstones Sports Lounge and Restaurant to raise an estimated $5,000 for children and adults with physical disabilities at Rock for Dimes Sarnia. Musician Jeff Poolton will be the special guest performer.
Dressed To Kill, Bloodless Child, CounterWait, Encrypted and Power House will compete for bragging rights as Sarnia’s best band, at the same time showcasing their talents to guest judges. David Ashdown, April Nelmes and Jeff Poolton have been tapped as judges, and Max Major from radio sponsor K106.3 will be the evening’s host.
All proceeds benefit March of Dimes Canada’s programs for children and adults with disabilities. The event will follow an Opening Doors for Accessibility event taking place on Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Bayside Centre, 2nd Floor, 150 Christina Street North, which is aimed at helping Sarnia-area residents living with disabilities to better access local community supports.
“We couldn’t be more excited about holding Rock for Dimes again in Sarnia,” says Mary Lynne Stewart, Director of Fund Development and Communications for March of Dimes Canada. “We have a great deal of programming in Sarnia, and the community has always embraced March of Dimes, and this event only continues to grow.”
