Access T.O. celebrated by March of Dimes Canada

Local organization receives Judge George Ferguson Award

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Each year, March of Dimes Canada takes an evening to recognize exceptional community partners and employees.

‘People with disabilities have much to contribute by participating in all aspects of society,’ says Andria Spindel, CEO and President of March of Dimes Canada. ‘And the work of organizations like Access T.O. is moving this understanding forward in concrete ways.’

Access T.O. recently accepted the Judge George Ferguson Award. The award goes to a business, organization, or individual that makes an outstanding contribution to enabling equality and full participation for people with disabilities.

Access T.O. advocates for and promotes fully accessible restaurants and entertainment venues. They work with people who have disabilities and lived experience to audit facilities and acknowledge those with full accessibility.

‘We’ve come so far, in terms of making public spaces accessible, and organizations like Access T.O. are an enormous part of that,’ Spindel concludes.
