Celebrity-studded cocktail party to raise money for March of Dimes Canada
January 21, 2016 – Let’s face it: February is a dull month. You’re sick of winter, and spring is a distant memory.
Scheduled for February 11th at the Fifth Street Social Club, the fundraiser will be hosted by CP24 Breakfast’s Steve Anthony and spiced up by celebrities like Sean Carrigan (The Young and the Restless), Tye Evans (Heartland, Flashpoint, Adion), Rainbow Sun Francks (The Listener, Stargate: Atlantis), Daniel Kelly (Degrassi: The Next Generation, Wolves, Flashpoint), Yan Joseph (State of Syn, Burn Up), comedian Daniel Bingham, singer-songwriter Sean Jones, and CP24 anchor and reporter Nathan Downer.
The evening will include mingling with celebrity guests, appetizers, a live auction, a Q&A session,
celebrity trivia and Pictionary, and a DJ. All proceeds will benefit MODC’s Conductive Education program
(marchofdimes.ca/CE), which helps children and adults with disabilities to maximize independence,
personal empowerment, and community engagement through rehabilitation.
Chenoa, for instance, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of two. She wasn’t able to walk but,
with hard work and the support of CE facilitators, she slowly engaged new pathways in her brain.
Chenoa is now on her way to mobility.
‘We’re so lucky to have celebrity supporters like these,’ says Mary Lynne Stewart, National Director of
Fund Development and Communications. ‘Their involvement makes for an exciting event, and that helps
us raise funds for Conductive Education.’
General admission is $75, which is eligible for a $50 tax receipt. VIP tickets are also available, and include
a private dinner with our Hot & Spicy celebrities. Details are available here.
