MARCH OF DIMES CANADA CELEBRATES TORONTO DANCE Theatre
Motus O Dance Theatre receives Community Partnership Award
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Each year, March of Dimes Canada takes an evening to recognize exceptional community partners and employees.
‘Our work is enriched by partnerships like the one we have with Motus O Dance Theatre,’ says Andria Spindel, CEO and President of March of Dimes Canada. ‘A partnership developed between this unique company and our Aphasia and Communication Disorders program in York Region.’
Motus O Dance Theatre recently received the Community Partnership Award for its remarkable collaboration with MODC. This award goes to an organization or community group which supports people with disabilities by partnering with March of Dimes Canada.
Motus O has demonstrated their dedication to inclusivity by learning about aphasia and other communication disorders and adapting their dance workshops. They hosted a Dance for Dimes fundraiser, and generally empower people with aphasia and communication disorders to tell their own stories via movement.
‘Motus O deserves special recognition for opening up the arts to people with communication disorders,’ continues Spindel. ‘And for taking the time to learn and to listen; to adapt, experiment, develop, and teach an array of music, dance, and drama skills to our consumers.’
