6th annual OpportuniTEA with Kate Linder and Friends raises over $80,000 for March of Dimes Canada!
For Immediate Release –March of Dimes Canada celebrated its 6th Annual OpportuniTEA with Kate Linder and Friends in Toronto.
Hosted by Kate Linder of The Young and the Restless, this elegant high tea features the thrill of meeting your favourite soap stars with the satisfaction of supporting March of Dimes Canada’s Conductive Education program.
Conductive Education is a unique type of rehabilitation designed for children and adults with neuro-motor disorders like cerebral palsy, Parkinsons disease, and multiple sclerosis. The goal is to help participants improve physical independence in their daily lives, focusing on building from single steps to more complex tasks, and using problem solving techniques along with group reinforcement.
‘This program impacts people in profound ways,’ says Linder. ‘It changes lives. That’s why I’m so proud to be the National Spokesperson for Conductive Education. The money we raise every year makes a real, tangible difference to so many people.’
This year’s event featured Linder and her Y&R co-stars Christian LeBlanc, Daniel Hall, and Abhi Sinha, and was once again co-hosted by Global Morning Show anchor Carolyn MacKenzie. Highlights included a Q+A session, live and silent auctions, and a picture and autograph session with the stars.
By the end of the afternoon, Toronto’s 6th annual OpportuniTEA raised $80,000 for Conductive Education.
‘Kate is a remarkable ambassador for Conductive Education,’ says March of Dimes Canada’s President and CEO Andria Spindel. ‘She puts her heart and soul into each event, because she knows exactly how important this program is.’
This event was generously sponsored by: Global News, Toronto Sun, PSAV, the Fairmont Royal York, Jergens, John Frieda, Hollywood Eye Magic, GC & Co Salon and Med Spa, Salma Jaffer Law, Inspire Cosmetics, the Distillery District, and Warner Marketing.
