To highlight the challenges individuals with a disability face daily, March of Dimes Canada is launching the “Taking a Stand” campaign leading up to Giving Tuesday this December 1st, to showcase the wonderful accessible places in the community.
This campaign challenges members of our community to take a photo or video (alone or with a friend) showcasing an accessible place in their neighbourhood.
To help us gain momentum, we need your help! It’s easy and only takes a moment.
- Take a photo or video of yourself alone or with a friend showcasing an accessible place (ramp, curb cut, elevator, to name a few) in your community.
- Share your photo or video to your Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and include the hashtags #givingtuesday and #MODC in your post so we can find them
make a $10 donation in the lead up to Giving Tuesday on December 1st.
- Challenge your friends and colleagues by tagging them in your post to also join us and support March of Dimes Canada and Taking a Stand!
For every picture or video posted on social media with both the #givingtuesday and #MODC hashtag, a March of Dimes Canada donor will give $5, up to a total of $10,000.
Our goal is to have at least seven people a day Taking a Stand with us
up until Giving Tuesday on December 1st. We hope that you will be one of them.
With your help, we can spread awareness of the challenges individuals with a disability face every day, and how much further there is to go before our community is accessible for everyone!
Giving Tuesday falls on Tuesday, December 1, 2015. Just as Black Friday kicks off the holiday shopping season, Giving Tuesday is the opening day of the giving season. It's a day dedicated to giving back... around the world, across Canada and in your own community!
We hope that you make March of Dimes Canada your charity of choice on Giving Tuesday.
