World Stroke Day on Sunday, October 29th is fast approaching and this year MODC is partnering with Urban Poling to raise funds and awareness!
For the month of October, Urban Poling will donate 10% of the sales from ACTIVATOR poles purchased through their online store at urbanpoling.com
. You can also purchase ACTIVATOR poles at participating Guardian and IDA stores, where donating $10 will get you a free set of snow baskets.
We all know that physical activities like walking are a crucial part of keeping healthy and recovering after a stroke. Some of us need extra support though, which is where the ACTIVATOR poles come in. Their poles help you feel secure and confident while you get the activity you need to be as healthy and strong as possible.
Stroke survivor Lynn Bellanger used the ACTIVATOR poles during her recovery. "They are by far the most effective tool I’ve ever used," says Bellanger. "Overall, they’ve been great for my rehab and my recovery."
Over 200 independent studies have found that walking poles help you strengthen your core, improve your posture and balance, and provide a more intensive work out than traditional walking.
