If you are living with an acquired brain injury, a March of Dimes support group is a safe and comfortable environment to share your common experiences.
Participate in a wide variety of funded and fee-for-service groups. Meet your peers and develop skills in a variety of activities including the arts, academics, physical activities, social skills, coping strategies and more.
There are also interest based groups for youth, caregivers or people interested in organizing out of country vacations.
Additionally, each group includes educational components focused on learning about acquired brain injury, health and wellness, effective communication and goal setting.
Group participants have reported an increase in confidence, leisure opportunities and improvement in their understanding of brain injury, resulting in improved quality of life.
Transportation can also be arranged to and from groups if required. In the event that the funding for an individual’s group attendance should end, March of Dimes can help individuals transition into programs funded by the Local Health Integrated Network (LHIN).
