A letter from Laura, a Job Skills Workshop participant
As a participant of your job skills workshop I have gained a broad spectrum of knowledge concerning the workplace. I am confident that I can utilize these skills in the labour market and I am hopeful that it will increase my potential for future job prospects in the field of social services. The group discussions were particularly important for me as it demonstrated that exchanging ideas, views and opinions is essential to our growth and progress. From a personal perspective this experience has improved my sense of self worth and has given me a rich appreciation for having a
purpose in my daily life, I have also gained a greater respect for others of diverse backgrounds and needs. I will continue to work to overcome my adversities and I hope through my experiences I
am able to make a difference in others.
I will also add that I have been fortunate to be in the company of a terrific group of individualseach of whom brought flare, uniqueness and authenticity to each session. The sharing of our hopes, dreams and obstacles made me aware that our inner struggles to attain a simple Wish of being the best we can be is reachable ... there are no limits only possibilities. I extend my best wishes to everyone in their future endeavours.
Rosanna, I thank you for your encouragement and support and most importantly for this opportunity. Your achievements in your career are exemplary. As an instructor you brought more
clarity to what should always be a common sense approach to life-believe in yourself, work hard and you will reach your goals. Your professionalism, your positivity and fun approach to teaching
is greatly appreciated. You reminded me and all of us of our inner 'and oh so great' potential in being a productive worker and most importantly, a valuable human being. Thank you once
again .... I wish you continued success with this program.
