March of Dimes Canada (MODC)’s Mission is to maximize the independence, personal empowerment and community participation of people with disabilities. Our Vision is to create a society inclusive of people with physical disabilities.
Impact of the Role
The COVID-19 contingency is having negative impact on the already high levels of social isolation that people with disabilities and seniors experience in their communities. Calls 4 Connection volunteers will be matched with one of our participants (adults with disabilities and/or seniors) for phone wellness checks.
Main Responsibilities
When notified of a match, contact them by phone once or twice weekly (depending on client’s preferences and needs)
Engage in wellness checks with program participant
Report any concerns to program supervisor/manager
Follow all program guidelines and boundaries
After the call has ended, fill out the required electronic service reports

Introduction to MODC
Mandatory legislated training (Access for Ontarians with Disabilities Act or equivalent in other provinces)

30-60 minutes per session, flexible schedule. Shifts depending on the volunteer’s availability.
