Funded Services

March of Dimes Canada's Acquired Brain Injury Services provides experienced and flexible care for people dealing with the effects of head injuries.

Specialized case managers and rehabilitation professionals work with family members, friends, other service providers and clients directly to improve: daily living skills, communication, community orientation and integration, emotional and behavioural support, life skills training, vocational support, recreation opportunities and more. 

This program is funded by Ontario's Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs)​ and is ISO 9001:2008 registered. The program's disability management advisors will review all the benefits and components of the disability management program for individuals with an acquired brain injury with you.

Who is Eligible?

To meet requirements for government funded service you must:
  • Have an acquired brain injury
  • Be 16 years of age or older
  • Require the support of March of Dimes Canada as a result of the acquired brain injury
  • Have a valid health card
  • Not be in receipt of insurance funds​

March of Dimes can improve your independence in everyday living. Our Independent Living Services are offered across Ontario on a fee for service basis.



March of Dimes Acquired Brain Injury Services provides you with: 


Care
March of Dimes services are accessible, facilitate high quality care and are staffed by trained rehabilitation and attendant care workers.  Disability management best practices are utilized throughout the program and we also strive to connect you with peer groups to build a community of support.

Flexibility
We offer rehabilitation and attendant care services, peer support groups, as well as both supportive and group housing options. Our services are offered in hospitals, schools, workplaces and other community locations. Additionally, as a Local Health Integration Network funded organization, March of Dimes can help you transition from insurance to LHIN-funded service if ever required.

Our established relationships with community agencies, service providers and case managers provide you with the resources you’ll need to become more independent.
