Northern Medical Clinics

Dawn Kaye and Dr. Gladys Chan Cochrane Northern Medical Clinic
Northern Medical Clinic doctors in front of planeEvery year, for over 40 years, medical specialists have volunteered their time traveling to the Northern Medical Clinics in communities such as Cochrane and Kirkland Lake. This saves people in northern communities the expenses, time and difficulties of travelling to see specialists and receiving treatments. Over two-thirds of the patients that come to the clinics reported that additional travel would simply be too expensive for them.

Please see below for information about upcoming scheduled clinics.

Critical elements of our health and safety plan include:

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
  • NMC employees are required to use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment according to public health authority protocols when in contact with clients
Education and communication:
  • Regular and timely communications with staff and clients, sharing key health and safety updates and changes in service delivery procedures and practices.
  • Staff continue with additional refresher training on universal precautions, blood borne pathogens and PPE.
If you are feeling unwell
The symptoms of COVID-19 may include fever, cough and/or difficulty breathing. If you have any of these symptoms, please take the following steps:
  • Stay at home and avoid close contact with other people.
  • Call ahead before visiting your doctor or local public health unit. Share your symptoms with them, and follow their instructions.
