March of Dimes Canada welcomes new Chief Accessibility Officer

Jeffrey Willbond

March of Dimes Canada (MODC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeffrey Willbond as our new Chief Accessibility Officer (CAO), effective February 23, 2026.

Jeff brings more than 30 years of experience advancing accessibility, human rights, and organizational change across the public, private, and non-profit sectors. His arrival as CAO furthers our commitment to dismantling barriers to success for people with disabilities and builds on our vision of a Canada where everyone can participate fully in all aspects of life.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Jeff to our team,” said MODC President and CEO Len Baker. “Jeff is a true champion of disability inclusion. His leadership and expertise will help lead our efforts to further embed accessibility into everything we do.”

As CAO, Jeff will lead development and implementation of a Multi-Year Accessibility and Disability Inclusion Plan, ensuring accessibility and inclusion are deeply integrated into our service delivery, community engagement, employment practices, and culture. This important work will centre the knowledge and living experiences of people with disabilities and their families and will reflect MODC’s commitment to the principle of “Nothing About Us Without Us.”

“An accessible organization reflects a leadership team that truly understands the people it serves. Accessibility is a strategic imperative — not a courtesy,” Willbond said. “As CAO, I’m committed to driving meaningful change that moves us toward a more inclusive and accessible Canada for everyone.”

Jeff’s career began in Ottawa supporting people with disabilities through employment counselling and community services. He has since held senior leadership roles with the Canadian Human Rights Commission, the Government of Canada, and Canada Post, where he developed and implemented accessibility strategies aimed at increasing representation and removing barriers for people with disabilities. His life-long commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion aligns deeply with MODC’s values and mission.

Jeff joins MODC at an important moment in our history. This year marks the 75th anniversary of delivering programs, services, and advocacy for people with disabilities across Canada. His leadership will play a vital role in shaping our next chapter, supporting our evolving brand strategy, and helping expand the reach and impact of our programming nationwide.

We’re delighted to welcome Jeff to his new role at MODC and look forward to the expertise, collaboration, and vision he will bring to this essential work.
