About door-to-door fundraising

March of Dimes Canada (MODC) is currently conducting a door-to-door fundraising campaign. The goal is to encourage residents to become monthly donors, supporting our mission to be Canada’s leading service provider, resource and advocate, empowering people with disabilities to live and thrive in communities nationwide.

How to identify a fundraiser

Our fundraisers will have an ID badge with photo and name, branded MODC vest and a tablet.

Our fundraisers follow Imagine Canada’s Standards Program and best practices for fundraising and are compensated through an hourly wage with no commission. They have also received comprehensive training to speak on behalf of MODC about our work and fundraising programs.

As part of the sign-up process, fundraisers cannot accept cash for safety purposes, they will call our verification call center 1-844-995-2282 or local 647-477-0398, to complete the donation.

Why Give Monthly

  1. MODC offers innovative programs and essential services which empower people with disabilities to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. They are long term projects that require sustained support.

  2. You will be joining a community of like-minded, passionate supporters to champion equity and empower ability. Thousands have made the commitment to making a monthly donation that works every day of the year to bring support, independence and dignity to people with disabilities. Your ongoing support enables MODC to create an inclusive, barrier-free society for people with disabilities.

  3. Less cost equals more help – When you choose one of the automatic donation options to make your monthly gift, you help to cut costs associated with postage, paper, printing, administration and other overhead costs. These savings become additional resources to fund more of the work MODC provides. It’s an easy and automatic way to give gifts that truly make a difference. You can choose the size of gift that suits your budget.

How does the process work?

For safety reasons fundraisers do not accept cash. They will start with filling out your contact information on their tablet. The fundraiser will call the verification call centre 1-844-995-2282 or local 647-477-0398, and you will be asked to speak to the agent and provide payment details in order to process the donation. The call will confirm your intent to become a monthly donor.

Once completed, you will receive a thank you phone call followed by a confirmation email within 24- 48 hours. Please note you will receive a consolidated tax receipt in February.
