The Move Learn Grow program delivers a play-based approach to early childhood learning that enhances the development of children with disabilities, emphasizing social integration, emotional well-being, and building long-term life skills.
Winter classes will run from February 9 - April 2, 2026.
Class Descriptions and Schedule
Move Learn Grow supports children with disabilities aged 0-16 years.
Note: Increase in age range to 16.
While classes are primarily categorized by chronological age, we also consider developmental abilities to ensure appropriate class placement. This approach helps match children with peers who have similar needs and abilities.
All classes are led by occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants with assistance from trained volunteers.

Designed for infants with developmental needs or delays, this class fosters a nurturing environment for both caregiver and child. Parent participation is essential, emphasizing interaction and bonding through engaging activities. Weekly themes focus on family connection and child learning, supporting crucial skill development. This class is great for infants with developmental needs who may benefit from group play opportunities, and for parents looking to connect with other parents.

Sensory Explorers (aged 2-3, and 4-5)
Join us on a magical journey where your child will explore and discover their senses through fun-filled activities! Our classes are divided into sessions for 2–3-year-olds and 4–5-year-olds to ensure age-appropriate experiences. Our goal is to help parents and children learn about their sensory experiences and create a safe, fun environment for exploration and growth. Our primary goal is to encourage engagement in various forms of play, whether it be functional, parallel, or collaborative. We meet children where they are at, ensuring each child feels included and supported.

Sensory Adventurers (aged 6-8) Perfect for kids with strong sensory preferences, this class offers multi-sensory experiences through playful exploration. Children will learn about sensory opportunities and develop their unique sensory preferences. Our goal is to support sensory processing by creating a safe, playful environment where children can explore and have fun!

Active Together Social Club (aged 6-9)
In partnership with Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital
Research shows that children with disabilities often need extra support to build social skills and confidence when engaging with peers. Active Together addresses this need by incorporating gym games that are specifically designed to promote peer-to-peer interaction and improve social skills through intentional play.

Goal Setting: Participants engage in a goal setting process with instructors at the start of the program and measure progress together throughout.
Achievement: The program is structured to help participants achieve their recreational and social goals.
Social & Physical Focus: We aim to create a supportive and enriching environment for children to thrive both socially and physically.
Note: Intended for children who have the sustained attention to tolerate 1.5 hours of structured programming and who can focus on a task and be physically active for 10 minutes or more at a time. Children should be interested in physical activities / gym games and in building and practicing social skills.
Schedule: Monday 4:00 - 5:30 pm (aged 6-9)
Mind Body Mingle (aged 9-13)
In partnership with Holland Bloorview
Mind Body Mingle is a group program for children with disabilities. Co-developed with staff and clients of Holland Bloorview, Mind Body Mingle provides youth with an opportunity to learn about themselves, participate in fun activities that promote wellbeing and make friends while working toward personal wellness goals. Each week will focus on structured activities in topics of the Mind (ex: meditation, self-expression); Body (ex: gross motor games and activities); and Mingle (ex: social games and activities).
Note: Intended for children who have the sustained attention to tolerate 1.5 hours of structured programming. Children should be willing to work on wellness goals related to recreation participation & leisure interests, increasing physical activity, coping with stress and/or social skill building.
Schedule: Tuesday 4:30 - 6:00 pm (aged 9-13)
Sensory Discoverers (aged 9-13)
Join us for an exciting class where children explore and celebrate their senses through fun, hands-on activities! Designed to spark curiosity and exploration, this program creates a safe, supportive environment for discovering sensory preferences and experiences. Give your child the chance to learn, play, and thrive in this unique class offering!

Girl, Let’s Dish (aged 12-16)
This class is designed to support girls ages 12-16 in building confidence, friendships, and life skills through learning simple meal and snack preparation, as well as through meaningful discussions about women’s health and wellbeing topics. Our goal is to empower girls in building their self-esteem, social skills, and functional independence in activities of daily living in a safe and supportive space to learn, share, and grow together.

Meal & Snack Preparation: Facilitated, step-by-step practice of preparing simple meals and snacks to enhance functional independence and life skills.
Group Discussions on Wellbeing: Discussions on topics like self-love, building friendships, goals and personal growth, and more!
Social Opportunities: Incorporation of icebreakers and group activities to foster friendships.
Note: Intended for girls who are interested in socializing, interested in learning meal preparation skills, able to sustain seated activity for ~30 minutes at a time, able to self-feed independently, and can follow instructions for safe meal preparation.
